Singapore pet import overview
Singapore's Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) oversees all pet imports. Australia is classified as a Category A country — the lowest-risk category — which means your pet qualifies for the shorter acclimatisation period on arrival rather than a full quarantine stay.
However, Singapore has strict breed restrictions and size limits for dogs that must be checked before any booking is made. Some breeds are entirely prohibited.
Breed restrictions: Singapore maintains a list of restricted and prohibited dog breeds. Pitbull-type breeds and several others cannot enter Singapore at all. Large dogs may face additional requirements. Always verify your specific breed before committing to any costs.
