Before booking your crate
Important things to consider
  • Measure your pet correctly — standing height from floor to top of head/ears, and length from nose tip to tail base
  • Your pet must be able to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably in the crate
  • Allow 2–4 weeks for crate training before travel — this reduces anxiety significantly
  • Consider purchase vs rental based on frequency of travel
  • Airlines will not accept crates that don't meet IATA standards — ensure compliance before the day of travel
  • Never use soft-sided carriers for cargo travel
Order early: Crates should be ordered 3–4 weeks before travel to allow proper familiarisation time. A well-acclimatised pet travels far more comfortably.
